@Nick Moyes: Nick. Received a notification that DESiegel reviewed this page. What exactly does that mean? Is he an admin? How would I know? Bruce BrucePL (talk) 18:51, 19 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, Bruce. Yes, he is an admin, but many other editors, like me, also 'review' new pages. It's just a routine way of checking and flagging up that there's nothing on a new page that could be of concern (copyright vio/promotional material or other inappropriate content). It's most important for new pages going into 'mainspace' i.e. the proper part of the encyclopaedia. We call it Page Curation or New Page Patrol. You will shortly receive a similar message for the Ross Embayment page - it may or may not contain comments/advice from that reviewer (like a lead sentence is needed etc.) I could do it myself, but that might be perceived as a conflict of interest. I should add that DESiegel was absolutely right to point out I shouldn't have allowed our conversations to be carried out on the RE sandbox page itself if it were to go directly into mainspace. My apologies for that -totally my fault. In future we'll stick to the talk pages, assuming that you'd still like me to continue supporting your editing work - that's very much a decision for you, of course. Hi Nick. I find the talk pages a bit confusing as there are several on my User page and Sandbox. But, let's keep it up. I addressed an admin comment on the OSC page = added wlink in the Macdonald page. Do I delete the comment or will that be patrolled and deleted? BrucePL (talk) 15:16, 21 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
