Chinesse descent[edit]

I have removed this per MOSBIO. If you want to add this under family background, ect. If sources can be provided that show his ethnicity is the reason for his notability, that would help as well. Thank you, --70.109.223.188 (talk) 16:29, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I read the cite about being one of a few oriental looking actors, but doubt that qualifies as his ethnicity being why he is notable. --70.109.223.188 (talk) 16:34, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well how many British Chinese actors can you name? Burt Kwouk, David Yip, and Ozzie. Would he have a notable career as an actor if he'd not been of Chinese descent? Probably not. We shall never know. But if that is the trigger for him achieving notability as an actor, then it belongs. This is supported by advice from the bio noticeboard as well as WP:MOSBIO itself. And I would think that the fact that he mentions it himself is a pretty big clue. --Rodhullandemu 16:48, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure if I fully agree, but I would strongly suggest that his ethnicity remain out of the lead sentence. Maybe further into the article would be more appropriate as it is mentioned now in the article. It seems, and rightly so, that ethnicity should remain out of the lead unless a very strong case can be made for it which I don't really see here. Maybe get some more eyes? That's why I asked at WP:BLP/N. We don't make such a big thing of ethnicity in the UK, and knowing Ozzie of old, I think he'd be laughing his plums off right now. --Rodhullandemu 17:33, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
