Caste promotion[edit]
Ping @Sitush. Please look at this edit 1. When did Dalits become Kshatriya?
I don't think these 2 accounts (Worldgiant and Vendan2211) here for WP:HERE. Contributions of these accounts take pallars into next level in the history. Please add this article to your watchlist. Kautilyapundit (talk) 04:52, 24 August 2023 (UTC)

Remove "Tamil" in the introduction's "Today, they are the dominant Tamil community of southern Tamil Nadu and have developed a reputation for being assertive about their rights." Pallar, which is a sub-caste of Devendra Kula Vellalar is not a Dalit community. As a matter of fact, this community has been staging struggle to change such perception and reclaim their rightful status in the society which was wrongfully changed in the past. Also, "Dalit," which is associated with the Varna system cannot be applied to Tamil communities as Varna system was never exercised in Southern India. There was no equivalent of Dalits in the Tamil community, as the community never exercised a vertical classification system, but a horizontal one, which is present in Tolkappiyam (an ancient Tamil text), which also mentions the term "Vellalar." The Pallar community considers this unjust and a transgression to use the term "Dalit" to refer to them. Hence, it is a kind request to remove the word "Dalit" as mentioned initially. 146.196.34.230 (talk) 22:39, 2 October 2023 (UTC)
