Hope this is the right way to do things. I just thought I'd throw out some first hand information, south west of the town center (where the bar/gas place) was a Caltrans station. My grandparents (Lyle and Ida Bell) lived on the Caltrans property (Lyle worked for them) on a mobile home in the late 70's I'd have to say.. You can see the building foundations on current sat views, mostly there were just equipment storage buildings and 2 mobile homes if I recall correctly.

A short ways to the west on 190 there's a road heading south west that leads to a spring that was providing water for the area, the water had a very high sulfer content...which I got used to pretty quickly.

I thought I'd toss this in here, just in case it matters. Braindead0 (talk) 21:14, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Description of California State Route 178 is inaccurate.[edit]

It is stated in this article that California State Routes SR190 and SR178 intersect nearby. The USGS topo map that is cited is incorrect. The east end of the western segment of SR178 ends before the town of Trona, CA at 35.681396, -117.391891. There are signs stating the beginning and ending of SR 178 at that location. Further, the road at the intersection referred to in the article is simply Panamint Valley Road and there are no SR178 signs at that intersection. Mcsew2k (talk) 21:43, 1 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Correction to above: SR190 and SR178 never meet. Mcsew2k (talk) 22:02, 1 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
