National party replaced Bungard with Jensen[edit]

The list on the electoral commission site has Katrina Bungard replaced with Ryl Jensen.I don't know when that list was issued but assume it is the final one. DrThneed (talk) 00:45, 5 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

ACT's list[edit]

Candidate photos[edit]

Hi, I noticed my recent edit to remove Labour Party candidate photos was reverted and it was suggested that we discuss the change here first. Apologies for not starting here in the first instance. The reason for the deletion was I did not think it was neutral to provide photographs of only one party's candidates. Having looked at the edit history previously, I saw that photographs for some other parties' candidates had already been deleted because they were of low quality. There are generally photographs on the articles of candidates who are sufficiently notable for those who wish to view them and, by precedent, there are no photographs on equivalent lists for previous elections. Yeah, this has quite a long backstory. We had a discussion somewhere (WPNZ talk? WPNZ politics talk?) prior to the last election and agreed that we would offer to all parties that we would add photos of their candidates to this article if they would make at least a near-complete set of photos with a free license available. I took that one on and personally wrote to every party. Some parties tried but didn't get their s... together. Usually, the Green Party is quite forthcoming with photos but they fell into the former category. In the end, it was only Labour that delivered (and it was quite an involved process and it was their president who eventually made the call to have this actioned). Is this neutral? Well, they all had the chance and they can still send us the photos if they wish. Be that as it may, I don't think that we should (or can) go back on our word. If you wish, follow up with the other parties, or at least those that made it into parliament, and see whether they are now willing (or able) to make photo sets available. I would totally welcome that. I'd be happy to dig out the email addresses and send them to you (and yes, it took me quite a while before I managed to have contacts for everyone). Thanks, I clearly missed those discussions. While I'm personally not comfortable with how this has been implemented (as a result of party non-participation), I understand the decision-making process and agree that it was all in good faith. I still don't think it's necessary for this type of list article to include candidate photographs especially where we can't do it for all candidates but I'll let it lie for now. Oh, definitely. We shall give this another shot. I reckon we should start much earlier with pestering the parties. It's definitely our best chance of getting our hands onto complete photo sets.
