Pasodoble is a single word[edit]

"Paso doble" is incorrect; "Pasodoble", correct. I believe that we must redirect "Paso doble" to "pasodoble" and hence the section include dance, marching bands and so on. (see Spanish version) What I am going to propose. (Sorry, Google traslate) Legran (talk) 06:05, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Spanish page states:

"Orígenes del baile

Se conoce como pasodoble el baile originado en España hacia 1533 y 1538. Utilizado en varias regiones para la celebración de eventos, es, además, uno de los pocos bailes de pareja que siguen arraigados hoy en día; está presente en muchas fiestas (verbenas populares) y sigue formando parte de la tradición de todas las regiones de España. .. También se cree que este baile pudo originarse en Francia, donde se llamó pas-redouble, tocado por bandas para marchas militares desde 1780."

"Origins of the dance

The dance known as Pasodoble originated in Spain between 1533 and 1538. Used in several regions for the celebration of events, it continues as one of the few couple dances still in existence today; it is present in many fiestas (popular festivals) and keeps being a part of the traditions on all regions of Spain. ... It is also thought that this dance could have had its origin in France, where it was called pas-redouble, played by bands for military marches since 1780."

Festeros ?[edit]

There's a photo of some men marching as if in a parade of some kind. The slogan says "Festeros parading Pasodoble as a military march" (italics included). There's no explanation of what Festeros actually are or the kind of event depicted. The page for the photo says it's "Comparsa de Moros Viejos de Villena" which is no help. Proposed edits[edit]

When I edit this article, I plan to make sure that all the information it contains is correct and to express this information in a less confusing way. I will also include information on the Pasodoble in Latin America, as this is a major content gap. This article also has several grammar and punctuation errors that I will correct. One issue I am having is finding sources in English. I am currently working on finding some and will post them on here as soon as I have a list.
