The song is about premature ejaculation.

"sometimes I get so tense but I can't speed up the time" is the giveaway. Slash is seen playing with his snakes which is a metaphor for his penis. Steven Adler is seen on the couch embarrased when two girls laugh and giggle next to him.

I can think of another interpretation of that line. Tense as in scared, perhaps scared that Axl or Izzy friend might not come back. You can't speed up time so you came make sure your friend is coming back. what is the relavence of this paragraph to this article?

Speculation of interpretation of song should have balance

Please add to Wikapedia on "Patience" after quote by guitarist Duff McKagan: Which better interprets and who can say which time in a relationship, fading or promising, is truly reflective of the song, if read from the singer’s point of view? The singer states, “If I can’t have you right now, I’ll wait dear.” The singer’s lyrics may so indicate that it may be about the time period in relationships when there is confidence that things will work out, especially from the singer’s point of view, and as evidenced by the lines, “Was a time when I wasn’t sure but you set my mind at ease, there is no doubt that you are in my heart now,“ and “It’ll work itself out fine….And we’ll come together fine, All we Need is Just a Little Patience,” and “Cause You and I’ve got what it takes to make it.”

Wikapedia writes there is general acceptance, but not by who nor with documentation, that the song was written about “the relationship between Axl Rose and now ex-wife Erin Everly, though this was never stated in the album or interviews.” What is stated in quotes is by a band member, “According to bass guitarist Duff McKagan, "Axl came up with a great lyric, seemingly out of nowhere.” So the above paragraph pointing to what the singer says in the song itself should follow this last quote of the guitarist by Wikapedia, to balance the speculation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.204.252.154 (talk) 16:21, 7 November 2011 (UTC)
