Given that the Shiites are the majority in Iraq and that the US doesn't want the Shiites in power, there is no way Bremer can bring legitimate democracy to the country, only "the trappings" thereof. It has nothing to do with the Shiites being "dictatorial" or "undemocratic"; it has to do with their nationalism and their ties to the regime in Iran. You have your own opinion. We'll have to wait and see how it actually turns out. Until then, since you cannot see into the future, you cannot say whether or not true democracy will come to Iraq. A democratic government does not simply mean turning over an entire country into the hands of one ethnic group. Bremer's job is to establish a multi-ethnic government, currently reflected by the Iraqi council. user:J.J.
Bremer is faced with creating a multi-ethnic, democratic government in Iraq, while ensuring that a fundamentalist Islamic government or other dictatorial group or figure does not win control of the country.
This is simply made up out of propaganda. If he wanted to prevent dictatorship, he would start by retiring. If he wanted democracy, he wouldn't cancel elections. I don't know what his job really is, but it's neither of those things.

It would appear an anonymous user believes the statement I made regarding Ambassador Bremer's distinguished career and his patriotism is conjecture. I would like to present these three questions to the anonymous individual:
- Would you say the same to his face?
- What contribution have you made to your society or on a much smaller scale, to your own town or community that has improved the quality of life?
- When was the last time you've done something nice or kind to a friend or to a stranger playing a saxaphone on the street?
Grammar may not be my forte, but believe me, I know the difference between a true patriot and a heartless murderer.

This article was once a candidate for removal because it was a stub at first then it was because it did not have enough external links. There seem to be several differences in opinion on this person as well. And I too firmly agree that such information should be substantiated with a source. I have the impression that some of these edits and changes are somewhat influenced by personal opinions. I am also under the impression that these Wikipedia articles are meant to be unbiased and supplemented with external links and material facts.
The edits thus far seem to show favoritism towards the military, which military I do not know and the military of which country - who the heck knows! So, please, unless you have factual information to back your claims, write them down and create your links, or else, vent your opinions on this discussion page. Like I am doing now. Just suggestions.

An update was made to article on Sciences Po December 24, 2004 and link to alumni created under "heads of state". Does anyone know what year Bremer received the CEP?
