A tag has been placed on Paul Frederick White, M.D., Ph.D. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Longhornmatt21 (talk) 18:44, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability Justification[edit]

Paul White is one of the most well-known anesthesiologists in the world, especially in ambulatory anesthesia and intravenous anesthesia. He has published over 500 papers, has authorship in nine anesthesiology textbooks, and has served as chairman of anesthesia at Washington University in St. Louis and UT Southwestern Medical Center. His research has been published in every major medical journal and featured on major news networks and media outlets.

Not speedy[edit]

I have declined to delete this article under the speedy criteria. To be speediable it must be obvious that the subject does not meet the notability criteria. A number of independant citations, authorship of textbooks and other claims make it possible that this person might meet the required criteria. If you think this article should be deleted feed free to nominate it under Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. DJ Clayworth (talk) 19:32, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why?[edit]

Dr White is well known and well published and has been recognized in various ways. But this article does not say why or for what, except the circular argument that he is recognized for his contributions. As in Alexander Fleming is recognised for the discovery of Penicillin, Columbus is recognised for encountering the Americas, and Paul white is recognised for........what? This bio reads like a bad introduction to a talk at a meeting, where the introduction is scanned from a resume by a speaker unfamiliar with his subject. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Papaloquelites (talkcontribs) 13:12, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Defense Witness Dr Murray Trial[edit]

The deleted and restored content referencing Dr. White's appearance for the defense, abandonment of the swallowed propofol theory, and warning by the judge about introducing statements made by the defendant are verified and important.

Before deleting it again, either justify doing so, or we can negotiate a solution that includes different facets of his testimony and court appearance.

Thank you.
