Jay Pinckney Hester[edit]

Records from his lifetime list him as either J. Pinckney Hester or Jay Pinckney Hester. He moved around a lot. He was at Fredonia about 1944-1946. The census for 1930, the year he collected the type of Escobaria hesteri shows him as a carpenter in general construction in Alpine, TX, but he also appears in the register of voters in Phoenix, AZ, for the same year.
