successor inherent[edit]

Need to define what "successor inherent" means, and also what the difference between in part and in full is. I have no idea what this means. 69.89.206.245 (talk) 04:42, 15 August 2009 (UTC)AED[reply]

Maybe a wiktionary link may be best to define the term. It basically means the aboriginal sovereign powers were handed down politically to the modern forms of government. "Full successor inherent" means by council, all authority, and thus right to claim, was passed on from the older political entity to a newer political entity. "Partial successor inherent" means that only some authority, and thus only some of the right to claim, was passed on from the older political entity to a newer political entity. How one is designated "full" or "partial", unfortunately, is too often too complicated when you start to slice and dice the older political entities and start to weave various older political entities into a newer political entity. So many inaccuracies![edit]

There are so many inaccuracies in this article it is absolutely shocking. It appears that the article was written by one individual. I am concerned that the contributor violated wiki protocol. Indigenous girl (talk) 19:37, 5 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I've also removed almost all the text on the "Little Shell Pembina Band," which in addition to being poorly-written and confusing, does not directly cite any references. The ADL page listed under external links (which appears to have been the reference for at least some of the info -- or at least to have been intended as a citation to support it, but which does not include all of the claims made by the text I removed) makes it clear that (at least in the ADL's opinion) the "Little Shell Pembina Band" is purely a sovereign citizen's movement created by one sketchy guy, and not affiliated with the legitimate Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians, beyond the creator possibly being descended from members of the historical Pembina Band. The inclusion of this unreferenced information here, particularly taking up a substantial part of the article, is inappropriate. Instead I've restored an earlier version of the information, when it was one short paragraph, and directly cited the ADL page as the source. (I note that the ADL's page has been also been outright plagiarized with a giant section on the specific page for the Little Shell Band of Chippewa Indians, which I'm going to remove as well.) --73.166.134.151 (talk) 01:17, 26 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
