Duplicate draft fiasco[edit]

In anticipation of the upcoming series, I looked to see if any drafts had already been started. I found two drafts, one being this one, and one entitled Draft:Percy Jackson (TV series). That one literally only had a title and a template box with some of the cast and crew. Seeing as this draft was the original, I attempted to have the duplicate speedy deleted twice under different criteria, but these were both rejected by the same administrator (granted, the first time I mistakingly used criteria A10 which only applies to articles, but they weren't happy at all about a secondary attempt). So now, I set it up as a redirect to make sure that all potential editors are funneled to the same page. I already worked to reconcile a similar issue with Draft:Walker Scobell, because there was a duplicate draft about "Walter Scobell." That one was successfully deleted for the same reasons I presented on the other Percy Jackson page, but whatever. Just thought I would explain what was going on. Im looking forward to seeing this draft reaching the mainspace and watching the show. TNstingray (talk) 15:48, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Since there was almost no content there, this was not a merge. A merge tag is thus unnecessary; the redirect is fine. InfiniteNexus (talk) 03:39, 17 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
For whatever reason, duplicate Percy Jackson drafts are a thing now. I just redirected Draft:Percy Jackson & the Olympians (TV series) to this page following its creation and premature submission attempt to mainspace. This makes it the third such draft I have had to deal with. Nothing notable from that page needed to be added to this one, but I am just chronicling it for the record. Scobell's Link[edit]

Scobell's link doesn't even redirect to the cast section of The Adam Project, it just redirects to the page as a whole.RaCJ1325 (talk) 04:47, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Walker Scobell will eventually become an article; until then, there's no harm linking to that redirect. InfiniteNexus (talk) 05:29, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The television series does not currently have a logo. Can anyone add it? JEDIMASTER2008 (talk) 09:07, 19 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Annabeth controversy?[edit]

There's been a controversy going on since annabeth's been casted as a black person, so should we include that in the casting and Rick Riordan's response? HiGuys69420 (talk) 19:28, 5 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It already is. Jeffries' casting received online backlash due to Annabeth not being depicted as Black in the novels, which Riordan condemned as racism. -- Alex_21 TALK 19:59, 5 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
ok thank you! HiGuys69420 (talk) 20:43, 5 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. -- Alex_21 TALK 20:24, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

New article for season 2?[edit]

hey, shouldn't we create a new article for the season two of the series? Manvik1515 (talk) 16:39, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

and maybe even a new page for season one of the series? Manvik1515 (talk) 16:43, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There's no requirement for season articles, but if you feel one should exist, the correct location to start creation one would be at Draft:Percy Jackson and the Olympians (season 1). However, there's no need for a second-season article yet, as it hasn't begun filming. -- Alex_21 TALK 20:07, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Pinging PopCulture247 in this. The article has been moved to the above linked draft, and named properly; it's Percy Jackson and the Olympians, plural. -- Alex_21 TALK 01:27, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Quote for casting backlash[edit]

The following quote from Rick Riordan fits better with the article's line on Riordan's claim of racism: "You are judging her appropriateness for this role solely and exclusively on how she looks. She is a Black girl playing someone who was described in the books as white. Friends, that is racism." I had added it, but it was removed due to missing context by @Alex 21: What is the required context in this scenario? JonSnow64 (talk) 06:52, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It's duplicate information to state "Riordan claimed was racism" and then add in the quote "Friends, that is racism". The former quote gives detail on why exactly they cast her, in addition to racism already being mentioned. -- Alex_21 TALK 09:41, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The current quote does indeed provide more detail, but in that case, the sentence should be rephrased, because the current phrasing with the word "stating" before the quote makes it look like the quote is supposed to explain Riordan's claim of racism.
