NPOV concerns[edit]

I question whether this article is written from a neutral point-of-view. Use of terms such as "ersatz stream-of-consciousness," "left-wing critical theory" (I'm not sure why the political designation is relevant in this context) suggest that this entry might have a anti-performative writing bias. Also, much more space is given to criticisms than to supporting views of performative writing.

Additionally, I would argue that the statement "It can generally be seen to follow the pattern of much modernist writing, in that it seeks to create complex new literary approaches in order to seal off 'high art culture' from the attention of ordinary people and from a mass culture," is not objective. I do not believe it is demonstrable that modernist writing seeks to seal off 'high art culture' from 'mass culture.' (Ivansnightmare (talk) 02:32, 1 April 2012 (UTC))[reply]

I agree! Please, let's revise it. I'll make a start to redress the balance. I want to send my students here - it needs to be more informative. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CinziaC2014 (talkcontribs) 08:29, 10 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I too agree - I stumbled across this while doing some research and cannot believe some of the statements. This is not neutral - is pat with hypercritical comments that seem to serve the author (perhaps a person who received a bad grade in performative writing?) in any case.... we need to fix....Jsm0925 (talk) 01:33, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
