Persoonia spathulataPersoonia rigida – I think this is a synonym of another plant that already has an article. (ref) Delsion23 (talk) 21:24, 16 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Commment/Oppose This should be a merge request, not a move request. Two plants have been named Persoonia spathulata (see here}. One was described by Robert Brown in 1810, the other was described by Sieber in 1827. Under the rules of nomenclature, the more recent name (by Sieber) can not be used. The Catalogue of Life link provided by Delusion23 shows that Sieber's P. spathulata is a synonym of P. rigida, not Brown's. While the Catalogue of Life does treat Brown's P. spathulata as a synonym of P. scabra, the Flora of Australia Online (the only source cited in the article) recognizes (Brown's) P. spathulata as distinct from P. scabra. And The Plant List has both P. spathulata as "unresolved". While the sources don't agree, it's clear that Brown's P. spathulata is not a synonym of P. rigida. Leave things as they are for now. Comment. Fair enough, I withdraw the nomination. Delsion23 (talk) 22:29, 17 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'll expand the article shortly, to highlight they are not the same plant. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 23:25, 17 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
