Personal Life[edit]

Do the privacy laws regarding Phil Brown's alleged indiscretions requiring anonymity in UK based newspapers apply to this article, as the wikipedia servers are based in the Netherlands and the USA? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.47.42.158 (talk) 01:49, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unless it's sources reliably, its cannot be included in this article.
Problem is, there are at least three other names being bandied about. Out of four of them, only one is guilty of the alleged infraction, so let's not get Wikipedia involved in spreading false information about innocent men. 86.7.211.128 (talk) 23:28, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies to Phil Brown can be sent care of Hull City FC:
THIS is why you shouldn't add internet rumour bull$hit to Wikipedia. 86.7.211.128 (talk) 11:05, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, apologies are in order for Phil Brown after many people on the Internet got it wrong, but Avram Grant was semi-protected after many people got it right. The location of the alleged brothel in Hampshire was a giveaway, as it is only a few miles from Portsmouth's Eastleigh training ground.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 12:11, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Errors[edit]

There's a spelling mistake in the Playing Career section ("follwd"), but I can't edit so I can't correct it. Also, under Managerial Career->Hull City->Premier League, "clubs" (in "greatest victory in the clubs history") should have an apostrophe: "club's". Also, in the same paragraph, "an 3-0 away victory" should read "a 3-0 away victory". Also, in paragraph 3 of the same section, "refused to shake his hand at of their two previous" should presumably read "at their two previous" or "at one of their two previous", but I can't tell which because the citation link is broken. Looks like these have been fixed-up now. Keith D (talk) 13:24, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

stupidity of brown[edit]

a supposedly intelligent and paid commentator calls nottingham forest notts forest on at least 3 occasions during tonights match, not intilligent and not worth his pay — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.18.208.3 (talk) 21:14, 24 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Calm down people...[edit]

Please can we wait for official statements before posting anything about Southend, as poorly-written as they may be. Danshrimp (talk) 16:17, 24 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Article Title[edit]

I believe that the article title of this page should be more simple. I think that just the name would be fine no need for the (footballer, 1959). If you have any reasons that the title should not be changed please leave a message here and make sure to ping me. Jiklo1569talk 21:37, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Jiklo1569: we have other Phil Brown's one of which is a footballer. See Phil Brown dab page. Keith D (talk) 01:24, 5 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for clarifying this, Keith D. Jiklo1569talk 14:59, 9 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
