Comments (note, outside my comfort zone, knowing zero about NHL but article looked interesting!)

  • "in a league-record for" don't think this needs to be hyphenated, if it said "in a league-record number of minutes" it would be...
    • Changed as suggested.
  • "The 213 minutes assessed against Philadelphia were also a record" was also a record?
    • Changed as suggested.
  • "as were the " was? the record is singular.
    • Changed as suggested.
  • " incidents were precipitated by an incident" repetitive.
    • Changed to "events were precipitated by an incident".
  • "of the hockey game" is hockey needed here?
    • Removed.
  • "got involved" strong dislike for "got", perhaps "became"?
    • Changed as suggested.
  • "The first instance angered..." sorry, which first instance?
    • Changed to "The first of these angered.." Does that make any more sense? (It might not.)
  • "late February" now I think that should be hyphenated.
    • Changed as suggested.
  • Is there a link for "high-sticking"?
    • Yup, added.
  • "leaving their crease as well as fighting majors" bit jargon loaded here, not helpful for non-experts.
    • I added a link for "leaving their crease" and "fighting". Major penalty was already linked to in the background section.
  • "face-off" is linked somewhat late in the article...
    • It is linked in the lead, and then the first usage in the body.
  • "Within 24 second of" missing s.
    • Oops. Added.
  • "a misconduct and double game misconduct" again, jargon heavy, no links, help!!
    • Added a link for "misconduct". "Game misconduct" is already linked. Should I put a note to explain the "double"?
  • " that the Senators "knew we had to fight back.... " now, in this quote I would think that you should replace "we" with "[they]" so the sentence (including the part before the quote) makes grammatical sense.
    • Changed as suggested.
  • "with lots of" with many, with numerous, just something a little more toned than "lots of".
    • Changed as suggested.
  • "head coach, Jacques Martin. However, he was restrained by Flyers Public Relations Director Zack Hill.." merge, to "... Martin, but was restrained..."
    • Reworked this a bit, how is it now?
  • "despite some bluster" is this encyclopedic?
    • Nope, changes to "despite some claims"
  • Any reason why the score in the Box score table is in bold?
    • It's the way it's done in all the hockey article with that table. I made it plain text though.
  • "Number in parenthesis " -> parentheses.
    • Oops. Fixed.
  • Be consistent with linking player's names in the penalty table, e.g. you relink Fisher, but not Somik for some reason.
    • Oops. Fixed.
  • "John LeClair" not "John Leclair"
    • Oops. Fixed.

Very interesting read. A whole different world... I'll put it on hold to look at these quibbles, nothing major though. The Rambling Man (talk) 08:08, 1 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@The Rambling Man: Thanks for the review. It's something different to cricket, that's for sure! I've addressed each of your points. Harrias talk 08:50, 3 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Good stuff, I have no problems with your fixes, so I'm happy to promote to GA. Nice work. The Rambling Man (talk) 12:59, 3 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Philadelphia Flyers–Ottawa Senators brawlFlyers–Senators brawl – There's no need to include the cities in the title. Its completely unnecessary, and anybody who's familiar enough with the NHL, or sports in general for that matter, will know where which team currently resides. 2601:282:300:98:3C86:B073:5F1D:D0AE (talk) 02:44, 3 May 2016 (UTC) --Relisted. -- Tavix (talk) 18:02, 22 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. I'm all for short titles, but the proposed title doesn't convey that the event was a hockey brawl (several baseball teams have been named "Senators") or even a sports brawl (lots of other things are named "senators", including several senates). Flyers is not much help for context either. The title would not be specific enough. 64.105.98.115 (talk) 19:04, 4 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak oppose I'm not that fussed either way; the article used to be at the proposed title before a move in late 2014, and I pretty much agree with the IP comment above. At the end of the team, the teams are called "Philadelphia Flyers" and "Ottawa Senators", so to say that including the cities in the title is "completely unnecessary" isn't quite right. Non-US sports fans certainly wouldn't have a clue where the teams reside without the city names. So actually, not a weak oppose at all, now that I consider it. Harrias talk 21:46, 4 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment Is there a guideline and/or naming convention you are trying to follow here? Something from the Manual of Style or the Ice Hockey Project perhaps? Rejectwater (talk) 06:53, 20 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
There's Category:National Hockey League brawls, but it's not much help. Out of the three brawls in this format, there's this article, one other one with the cities, and one without. The titles don't seem to be very stable, so this is just how they currently are. I'll leave a note at WT:NHL and see if we can get more input. I will note that most other brawls omit the cities: Pacers–Pistons brawl, Knicks–Nuggets brawl, Sparks–Shock brawl, etc. -- Tavix (talk) 17:59, 22 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Those are basketball pages. WP:NBA can do as they please. I agree it would be nice to have some overarching consistency across projects, but it's hard enough to gain consensus within a project, much less across multiple projects. However, for the sake of consistency, within WP:NHL, I could see moving Penguins–Islanders brawl back to Pittsburgh Penguins–New York Islanders brawl (that was a move that was not discussed, and the page has suffered from several bizarre page names in the time since). There was just a RM at Colorado Avalanche–Detroit Red Wings brawl that was turned down on the premise that Wikipedia:Naming conventions (ice hockey) implies that city names should be used in team names. Finally, in response to the OP, it's not good practice to assume every visitor to the page will be familiar with the NHL or with (Canadian/US) sports in general. I consider myself to be familiar with sports in general but when I come across Association football pages I often have no idea what is going on. Rejectwater (talk) 06:25, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Actually I've decided to propose moving Penguins–Islanders brawl back to Pittsburgh Penguins–New York Islanders brawl. Having the city names in these titles has been the standard within the project and this would achieve WP:CONSISTENCY. Rejectwater (talk) 06:27, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
