Division Championships[edit]
For future reference, should division championships refer to coming in first for the division in the regular season, or winning the division finals in the playoffs? 3DMFlyersFan (talk) 19:37, 12 June 2016 (UTC)
- @3DMFlyersFan: It could go either way, but typically Division Champions are used for regular season only (since many leagues do not have divisional playoffs) and Conference Champions used for playoff champions (since most leagues do at least have two conferences). If it ever becomes an issue, possibly in the info box where space is limited, writing a team's success in prose in the history section works just fine. The season-by-season records section also is usually good for clearing up any differences, such as why a team that won their division in the playoffs but not regular season does not have that season listed in the infobox.
