Reminders[edit]

  1. Do not create each contestant an article. They will be prodded immediately, and if the user persists (such as removing the prod notice), the article would be listed for AFD.
  • I won't prod the Kim Chiu article. She maybe notable, I dunno on other users. All other housemates' articles (if created) will be prodded by myself, and if resisted will go to WP:AFD. --Howard the Duck | talk, 11:56, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Mikee Lee is up for deletion. Vote for its deletion or retention at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mikee Lee. --Howard the Duck 08:40, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Do not use nickname (i.e. Sosy Girl ng Makati). They will be reverted on sight. See WP:NOT for details. Wikipedia is not a fansite.
  2. Do not add a host of pictures. Especially copyrighted photos. See WP:Fair use for details.
  3. No spamming of external links, especially blogsites. They will be deleted on sight. See WP:EL for details.
  4. And do not be angry when we revert your work, we are just enforcing Wikipedia policies.

Thanks. And happy editing! Howard the Duck | talk, 10:15, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just asking (to the editors), Why not add the pictures of housemates? It sure would enliven the page -- User:Matthewprc, 12:59, 25 April 2006 (UTC +8)
Again... as Howard already said, "Do not add a host of photos." You may do so, but get permission first from ABS-CBN. - 上村七美 09:40, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
As I've seen at discussions at WP:FL, you can't add fair use images merely for decoration. However, I think that asking permission from ABS-CBN is too much, just tagging them with any of the fair use templates will be enough. But I dunno on the other editors and bots snooping around hehehe... Howard the Duck | talk, 12:05, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think Howard is right. If you are just posting images just for fun, it defeats the purpose of Wikipedia, which aims not to be a fansite. Kevin nico is notorious for that. As a suggestion, just post images if it is either relevant to the article, or as a point of illustration. - 上村七美 10:24, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Even just one group picture of the housemates (under fair use) would be enough for this article, methinks. -eniarrol- 12:00, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Note an example from the Celebrity Edition: <!-- Unsourced image removed: [[Image:Pbb_celebrity_housemates.JPG|right|350px|thumb|(L-R, top row) Rudy Fernandez, Bianca Gonzalez, Angela Calina, John Pratts, Rico Robles, Roxanne Barcelo, Christian Vasquez; (L-R, bottom row) Budoy Marabiles, Mich Dulce, Zanjoe Marudo, Gretchen Malalad, Aleck Bovick, Keanna Reeves, Rustom Padilla]] -->. User:OrphanBot can be really strict with image copyright matters. Howard the Duck | talk, 04:54, 27 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes... One group picture of the housemates is necessary - 99User:Matthewprc]] 11:14, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
We already have one now. Howard the Duck | talk, 11:48, 28 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
As for spamming, I suggest putting the warning at the end of the list rather than at the beginning. Most probably, they will just ignore the warning if it is at the beginning. - 上村七美 17:25, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think we can actually claim fair use ({{Promotional}}) on the official promotional photos of the housemates, just as in the American Idol (Season 5) article. If we won't have individual articles on the housemates, perhaps we could have short sections for each of them just as in the American Idol article. 202.78.91.66 12:41, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it is fair use. But let us put it into perspective. If the article is short, adding pictures would only clutter the page. And we already have a picture-illustration with all of them (uploaded by User:Kevin nico, he says he's the created it. OrphanBot should know better). However, if the article grows long enough (like the season 1), we can add pics and sections dedicated to the housemates. And if its fair use, it must have a fair use rationale. --Howard the Duck | talk, 14:52, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Brand names[edit]

Are we to allow the addition of brand names? Wikipedia is hosted on a nonprofit organization so that would look like a conflict of interest. Howard the Duck | talk, 11:48, 27 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination notes[edit]

As with the celebrity edition, I've added the elimination notes in light with Aldred's departure. - 上村七美 14:51, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I added a table today. I just thought that it would be proper to add one so that all seasons and editions will be uniform. If anyone can fill up the table, please do so. Thank you.Lord Belly: TV Geek (talk) 15:27, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Olyn's surname[edit]

I've been told that it is Meimban. However, I can't verify it. (WP:VERIFY) Howard the Duck | talk, 03:16, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The anonymous user 58.69.198.160 insisted it was Meimban becuase s/he was once Olyn's schoolmate. Here's the reply s/he gave me as reply to my message about changing the article:
Good day to you friend. i know Miss Olyn Meimban because she's my schoolmate. She just graduated from QCA (Quezon City Academy) this year (2006) and her surname is spelled "Meimban" in this year's edition of the year book. Also, on an interview with Studio 23, she also pronnounced her surname as "Meimban" so it is to ABS-CBN's mistake.
But even I can't verify her claim either. Maybe ABS-CBN can explain because the official website says Membian. - 上村七美 03:33, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If a certain publication produces the different spelling, then perhaps it can be noted. Or if ABS-CBN per se changes their spelling, then perhaps we could change it too. But as of know it should stay, because it can't be verified, even if the anon is true --Howard the Duck | talk, 05:40, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Did a google search between Olyn Meimban and Olyn Membian. 2 vs. 174. It's a no contest. (However, the second seach link on "Meimban" was rather... surprising (it said that she was 17 on 2004, making her 18/19 this year, but our article says 16, which brings me to...). --Howard the Duck | talk, 15:07, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

...Age verification[edit]

Are we to let the ages stay. It could be disputed and be possibly wrong. --Howard the Duck | talk, 15:12, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Niña's true last name[edit]

According to ABS-CBN's official Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition website, Niña's last name is really Jose and not Atienza as earlier reported.

Still, let it be. You can change the words in Wikipedia, but you can't change the text of those articles already published unless you write to them. - 上村七美 | talk 10:00, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think we should correct it. Wikipedia has to be current. (Also, I won't be reverting/correcting name changes/mistakes for I'm not that interested on the subject per se, just the policies being violated at these PBB pages). --Howard the Duck | talk, 10:07, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I already put that a footnote, since so far, only the official website said so. If other publications also said Jose, then we can change it.- 上村七美 | talk 10:16, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Teen_housemates.jpg[edit]

Can someone clarify on the copyright status of Teen_housemates.jpg in the Article page? I noticed that it was uploaded by Kevin_nico, who had been numerous times for his indiscrimate uploading of images, especially related to ABS-CBN. He indicated that he was the creator of the image, which I highly doubt. RashBold Talk 21:14, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Let's ask OrphanBot, that bot knows everything (lol) If OrphanBot tags it for deletion, i'd just the tag to promotional as pointed out by the anon above. --Howard the Duck | talk, 00:10, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
User:TheCoffee already changed the tag on the said image. --Howard the Duck | talk, 13:42, 5 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Numbering of days[edit]

When does "Day 1" begin? I see a mini edit war. Lets have consensus on this. --Howard the Duck | talk, 14:39, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Day 1 is set on when the housemates entered the house, which was April 23. It so happened that the events on that day were aired the next day, hence the confusion, even for ABS-CBN. This was also the case on the previous editions (Season 1 and the Celebrity Edition), in which the numbering of days in their respective articles are based on when the housemates entered the house, not on when the events of the first day are aired in the Primetime edition. - 上村七美 | talk 14:44, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

At least that's settled. --Howard the Duck | talk, 15:44, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Weekly Tasks and Themes[edit]

(This section is placed by an anonymous editor 210.213.143.68 on the article itself, but I removed it because don't think it belongs in the article. It wasn't in the other related articles either. Let's have a consensus in putting this.) Day 1: The housemates rode motorcycles while wearing jackets over their casual shirts. Week 1: Getting-to-know-you

Day 8: 1st Nomination Night - Indigenous Filipino Clothing

Week 2A: Bear Task Week 2B: Non-stop Dancing

Day 15: 2nd Nomination Night - Superheroes

Week 3: Puzzle-Dazzle

****Please add comments, anything you can say****

-上村七美 | talk 15:30, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Big Brother UK series 6 does tell the various tasks, and how the housemates got through them, and they can be added to the Chronology section, although it wasn't listed in such a way the anon did it. However, it all depends on how the Wikipedians here would update the article. It's all or nothing, for me. --Howard the Duck | talk, 15:54, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Contestants[edit]

Again, to reemphasize, the contestants are still unnotable by themselves and would be redirected here for convenience. Most of them are still widely known for their participation in the TV program and nothing more. --Howard the Duck 06:49, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:PBBT ABSCBN.jpg[edit]

Image:PBBT ABSCBN.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:21, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not upgraded to C-Class[edit]

This article needs more reliable sources and references before it can be moved to C-Class. ♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 23:01, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hosts[edit]

I noticed that the article says that "mariel rodriguez too over as the main host of the primetime..." but as far as I can remember, it is toni gonzaga —Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.127.223.72 (talk) 15:42, 26 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

For the first Teen Edition, it was Mariel Rodriguez who became the daily host, and at the beginning was also the eviction and nomination host. Later on, however, Bianca Gonzalez took over the eviction hosting. LordBelly06 (talk) 22:32, 26 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
