Aviation accidents and incidents, India[edit]
In world aviation history, barely 2-3 mid-air collissions were recorded. In Wikipedia[1]1996 Charkhi Dadri mid-air collisioncollided in mid-air with Air Kazakhstan Flight 1907 (9Y 1907), an Ilyushin Il-76 en route from Shymkent, Kazakhstan to New Delhi, over the village of Charkhi Dadri, Haryana, India. All 349 people on board both flights were killed, making it the deadliest mid-air collision to date.
- Since airplanes were invented, the air collissions historically accounted for Indian nations here in the Philippines, a world record of twin air disaster in just 2 years with the mysterious air collisions, involving natives of India. Hence I added these, and this was reverted or deleted. So, I must revert them in view of importance.
Plaridel Airport and Phoenix School of Aviation[edit]
Plaridel is noted for its airport, where the traditional yearly December 28 "Fiesta" and parade of horses from Metro Manila, Bulacan and Pampanga, are held in honor of its patron "Santiago Apostol" or St. James[disambiguation needed], the Apostle.[2] The yearly festivities culminates at Plaridel's Church, Parokya ni Santiago Apostol or St. James Parish Church.[3]
More importantly, its Phoenix School of Aviation attracted India and some Nepalese international student pilots, since the aviation school offers better training at lower cost, while the courses offered are shorter and more intensive with more equipments compared to trainings offered in India and Nepal. Phoenix Aviation School has 6 available training planes, while six more are coming from abroad.
Mysterious Cessna collision and crashes[edit]
In 1973, Philippine CESSNA 150 - N22309 Nonfatal - Part 91 General Aviation, Flying training center, Plaridel Airport, Plaridel Bulacan crashed.[4]
Patrick Phillip Teruel, a flight instructor of village Agnaya, Plaridel Phoenix School of Aviation, and student pilots Reena Salve, 25, and Varsha Gopinath, 18, an Indian national, were instantly killed on July 09, 2007 upon mysterious mid-air collision (Aviation accidents and incidents) while cruising at 500 feet, on the school's Cessna-150 and another Cessna, plunging in Barangay Ligas, less than 30 kilometers from the airport/school.[1] Accordingly, the Air Transportation Office (ATO) ordered the temporary closure of the Plaridel Airport, Bulacan.
The aviation school's Mike Bernardo, flight instructor, and student Tausik Muhan, an Indian national, on March 2, 2008, aboard Cessna plane (registration number PRC 1123, which does not have a black box), again mysteriously crashed in Agnaya village, Plaridel, Bulacan, 10:30 a.m. Thus, 150 Cessna planes of Flightline Aviation were ordered grounded by ATO after the crash, and the ATO suspended the operation of the Plaridel flying school.[2]
Link factors of the mystery are - trainee pilots Kaushik G Mohan, and Varsha - are both from Thiruvananthapuram, and the plane that rammed her Cessna from behind on July 9, 2007, belonged to Fliteline Aviation School Kaushik later trained at. The WCC Aviation Company, Philippines, where Varsha trained at, and the Indian Ambassador in Philippines failed to provide N.Gopinathan Nair, Varsha's father, with an answer. Fying instructor Captain Castello accompanied Varsha's body to Thiruvananthapuram. Unlike Kaushik, Varsha never intended to go to Philippines when she signed up for pilot training with Air Titan Pilot Academy, Kochi. Kaushik G. Mohan, 26, gave up hotel management for flying, but died on March 2 after his plane crashed in a paddy field next to the Plaridel Airfield while he was about to land. On February, another Malayali, Kiran Panikker of Kollam died after his plane crashed off Philippines sea.[3]--Florentino floro (talk) 12:17, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
