Good, but...[edit]

The whole article needs to read more encyclopedic and neutral. Right now it reads like a big press release or official biography that could have been copied from elsewhere on the web. Proper citations for everything will be needed for this article as well in order to be of feature article quality. -- CJ Marsicano 17:38, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. Overall, it was taken heavily from the official bio, largely because it was nearly impossible to find ANY history of the band from anywhere else. Help is needed to make sure the article does fall into the encyclopedic guidelines of Wikipedia, and any help assisted by anyone would be greatly appreciated as I try and tell this incredibly influential band's story. Also, the main reason no sources are given is because the main source is blacklisted for reasons unknown. I am trying to have it allowed. http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Talk:Spam_blacklist#plasmatics.com LuvataciousSkull 17:55, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

B-Class Quality?[edit]

I've added a B-Class stub to the article since I've added so much information to the article, images, and cleaned up some of the language. I will shoot for an A-Class rating in a week. LuvataciousSkull 01:15, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

References?[edit]

OK, the subject of the lack of references is perfectly valid, and I would be more than happy to include them. The main problem, though, is that the website that these references can be found is, for some reason or another, blacklisted. This, despite the fact that the site is perfectly fine. The topic can be found here:

http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Talk:Spam_blacklist#plasmatics.com --- 19:44, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

The site may not deserve to be on the spam blacklist, but as it's essentially a storefront for Plasmatics merchandise I question its value as a reference. It does not reference any of its claims, and is certainly not NPOV (for example the section relevant to the Milwaukee 'assault' begins "The jackboot response from the establishment came down hard just 2 days later when Wendy was arrested and brutally beaten by Vice Squad police officers after a performance at The Palms Nightclub in Milwaukee.") I think a reliable source needs to be found. Tuskah (talk) 04:15, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed the phrase "and was seriously beaten in Milwaukee" from the opening paragraph. This statement was unreferenced and the closest I could find to a legitimate reference was an uncited AP report here that states the jury cleared all six officers of wrongdoing.Tuskah (talk) 06:39, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've nominated the article for a POV-check, as my previous edit removing an claim of police brutality was restored, despite that fact that a site referenced by the article mentioned above states that Wendy lost the case and "Jurors ruled that Ms. Williams was not sexually assaulted, that police were within their rights to arrest her and did not use excessive force or violate her civil rights during the Jan. 19, 1981, arrest." This clearly contradicts the statement made in the article. Also, that same reference includes details of Williams sentence for assaulting a photographer, which is not mentioned in the article. This article reads like a fan site, and I think needs considerable editing to conform with Wikipedia's policies regarding NPOV and verifiability. Tuskah (talk) 04:15, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Article is plagiarized.[edit]

The biography section of this article is lifted verbatim from the DVD "10 Years Of Revolutionary Rock 'N' Roll" by the Plasmatics. On the disc the text is spoken, and whoever actually placed that here simply transcribed it. The DVD is copyrighted in the year 2006 by Pandemonium Merchandising LLC, and as such the entire article needs to be rewritten. —comment added by Realkinglion (talkcontribs) 19:14, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Anthemsoftheapocalypse.jpg[edit]

Image:Anthemsoftheapocalypse.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Image copyright problem with Image:Stand By Your Man.jpg[edit]

The image Image:Stand By Your Man.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.
