History needed[edit]

Friends: This could use a lot more history. I've provided the links and the sources. We need somebody to compile the story. Best to you all 7&6=thirteen (talk) 20:19, 27 February 2008 (UTC)Stan[reply]

National Register of Historic Places/Registered Historic Places in Michigan[edit]

Would somebody make sure that the "stub" remark put at the end of the article is the correct one? Thanks. 7&6=thirteen (talk) 18:10, 3 April 2008 (UTC)Stan[reply]

Range[edit]

The one marker says 27.5 miles. Volume 7 of the Coast Guard Lightlist says 18 miles. It may have been 27.5 miles with the Fresnel with bullseye, but the acrylic optic does not seem to be as robust. In fact, we kind of discuss that in the article. Do we report the historical number or the current number? The infobox as presently configured does nto have a place for two sets of numbers. 7&6=thirteen (talk) 21:45, 2 June 2008 (UTC) Stan[reply]

Construction[edit]

I don't understand this statement: "Construction began in 1858, but it was not completed until 1858...". Is this a mistake? Phizzy (talk) 20:17, 31 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Phizzy, best place to find an answer like that is to click on the links, starting with the Terry Pepper Seeing the Light, and probably going to the U.S. Coast Guard list, National Park Service Maritime History Project and the Michigan Light House Conservancy (in that order). Feel free to correct it. Don't be shy. This is a collaborative process! 7&6=thirteen (talk) 23:51, 31 October 2008 (UTC) Stan[reply]

Name[edit]

I’ve often wondered where the name came from. Anyone know who Betsie was? 2601:404:C101:3480:38E0:106D:3A1D:DD42 (talk) 13:15, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
