National tournament

Could the fact that PLNU hosted the 2005 NCFCA National Tournament and that PLNU hosts a NCFCA National Open tournament be included on the PLNU page somehow? --Nate Hanson

Nate, look at it this way -- if you wouldn't need to read about it in an encyclopedia, an objective and factual overview of the topic, you shouldn't read it here. I honestly don't think those are significant bits of information, so they won't creep into my edits. Thanks for the idea, though. -- User Aepoutre 11:08 June 14, 2007 (EST)
Although, if it were an annual event, it may be more mentionable... Is it an annual event? Aepoutre 18:42, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

2008 Hazing

I just reverted a recent edit, and wanted to explain my reasoning for any who may be curious about it. I felt that the edit, which was a straight copy/paste of an article discussing the firing of a dorm director for a recent hazing event, was not important enough to be added into this article. Besides, if we listed every single news event for every single University, then each article would be far too long. -- raven1977 (talk) 00:09, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Raven, I'd say the issue isn't so much the controversy as the fact that you can't plagiarise an entire article in an encyclopedia. That said, I didn't revert its initial removal, since I am otherwise inclined to agree with you. --Aepoutre (talk) 21:04, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
Good point. I touched a bit on the idea of it being a straight quote of the entire article on the talk page of the person who edited it in, suggesting that if he/she wanted to place it back into the article, the information would fit better if re-written as something other a straight quote, as well as finding a way to integrate it into the article better, such as under a new "Recent Controversies" section for example. raven1977 (talk) 00:48, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
I just removed another post about the hazing. It was added by an unregistered user and poorly sourced. The article they did mention (I had to search for it) named several colleges. But let's be honest: hazing is fairly common, and an incident of swimming and swift apology is hardly that controversial. --Aepoutre (talk) 16:39, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
