I've added a couple of images to liven up this stub, they are not the greatest and i'll take better when i get the chance. I hope to be working on this stub soon as it needs attention. --Brideshead 18:38, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Where is Polwarth?[edit]

Currently article states 'It is bounded by Bruntsfield and Merchiston to the east and south, Gorgie and Dalry to the north, and Fountainbridge, and Craiglockhart to the west.' This is very rough, if not even inaccurate, and would need careful refining.

However, Polwarth is probably more a convenient daily expression - conveniently propagated by estate agents - to situate someone's dwellings, because Polwarth Gardens, Terrace, Park, Grove, Crescent, and Parish Church are prominent landmarks in this end of town.

Indeed, technically, there is no doubt that Polwarth is within Merchiston, with Merchiston expanding on the hill side down from Bruntsfield, all the way westwards towards the Union Canal, and beyond where North Merchiston is to be found.

The North Merchiston Club is an excellent clue to the fact that Merchiston is wider than, and includes, Polwarth. The boundaries for the Merchiston Community Council area are an other very clear clue on that situation. Aristote33 (talk) 13:38, 24 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
