Porcelain [band][edit]

Emotional, melodic, dynamic, and powerful are words that come to mind when introduced to the band Porcelain. .. Originally formed in Wollongong (Australia) now bases in Los Angeles (USA), Porcelain has a unique lineup and an original sound. Their sound is based on the dynamic vocals of female front Lo Roberts, the powerful melodic guitars of Ben Richards, the emotional layers of violinist Asha Mevlana and the strength of rhythm section Ewen Penberthy-Groves (Bass) and Blake Paulson (Drums).

Porcelain formed in Wollongong, just outside of Sydney Australia, by songwriting duo Lo and Ben. After fleshing out their outfit to a 5 piece lineup, Porcelain rose to the top of their local scene, winning a MusicOz Award and later gaining a spot on the M-One tour with the Goo Goo Dolls, Simple Plan, Nickelback and Lifehouse. An industry buzz attracted interest from Sony Records and Wizard Records and Porcelain elected to sign with Wizard, an independent label who had a more immediate focus on the U.S market.

The band relocated to Los Angeles and began to build a name by sustaining residencies at multiple venues including the Viper Room. The band developed their live show and local fan-base which attracted interest from Universal Records, Maverick Records and local press...

"Porcelain...a dizzying on-stage array...Porcelain's estimable range...is at once buoyant and mesmerizing..." Kevin Bronson/L.A. TIMES

"Time to add some Porcelain to your collection... Singer Lo Roberts...flaunts a natural stage presence not a million miles removed from that of Gwen Stefani, and easily lures listeners into her complex, occasionally confrontational world. Porcelain isn't like many other bands out there. That's what makes it so valuable," Dean Goodman (Editor)/REUTERS Entertainment Review

Porcelain signed directly to Universal/Motown while remaining with the small Indie label Wizard in their homeland. Porcelain wrote their first record on the shores of the Australian coast, and in the heart of Los Angeles. These sessions included working with Linda Perry (4 Non-Blondes,Pink, Gwen Stefani), Mike Elizondo (50 Cent, Eminem, Fiona Apple) and Holly Knight (Aerosmith, Pat Benatar). Their album was mixed by Serban Ghenea (Dave Matthews, Kelly Clarkson, Staind) and was Produced by Mike Green (Paramore, Plain White T's).

Porcelain is a truly original band with great songs and amazing stage presence – reminiscent of the super bands of yesteryear.
