Interestingly, in trying to stay up-to-date with all the happenings in the post-perovskite world, I've found that google is bringing up this "post-perovskite" page as a search result (with high priority) for the same term. In this first-ever comment in the discussion, I would encourage any serious academics browsing through this material to add more content to this page. For example, it would be interesting to elaborate upon the following: (1) what is the true origin of the name "post-perovskite"? Did it originate with with the MgSiO_3 discovery, or does the nomenclature have roots in phase diagrams of other systems/compositions? While natural occurrence of this kind of mineral is probably much more important than other examples, it would be worthwhile to examine the correspondence of this term with more general high pressure materials science. (2) A definitive bibliography of all the papers written on post-perovskite up to the present time (I know, this is a lot of work to maintain)...
