Removal of unrelated text, infobox, wikilinks and categories[edit]

Today I have removed unrelated text, infobox, wikilinks and categories from this article. The current article was moved from List of Presidents of Latvia and was appropriate to that article. Philaweb T-C 13:30, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have requested a rollback of this article to the latest version when the title was List of Presidents of Latvia. The content of List of Presidents of Latvia focuses on the Republic of Latvia and heads of states of other entities does not belong in that article. I strongly recommend user Ivan Bogdanov to create List of Heads of State of Latvia as a seperate article. Philaweb T 13:58, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback seems to be the wrong procedure for the my request. Therefore I am adding another request to this talk page. Philaweb T 14:13, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Move article back to List of Presidents of Latvia[edit]

(For reference use: Related discussion)

The content of List of Presidents of Latvia focuses on the Republic of Latvia and heads of states of other entities does not belong in that article. I strongly recommend user Ivan Bogdanov to create List of Heads of State of Latvia as a separate article. Philaweb T 14:16, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Are you saying this should be two articles, List of Presidents, as it was before it was moved, and Lists of Heads of State, with the current content? Sarah 14:22, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly. I was working on a rephrase during the time you posted an answer. This is my rephrase:
This article should be moved back to List of Presidents of Latvia and be restored as this version which focuses on the Republic of Latvia. Heads of states of other entities does not belong in that article. I strongly recommend List of Heads of State of Latvia to be created as a separate article. Philaweb T 14:30, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Okay Phil, I think I understand your position. I have to go offline in a minute, but I should be back in about 30-60 minutes, at which time I am going to do as follows:
  1. Move the article back to its old location, "List of Presidents of Latvia".
  2. Delete this article.
  3. Selectively restore the edits made since it was renamed "List of Heads of State of Latvia", i.e. the "new" article by Ivan.
  4. Move the restored edits to current location, "List of Heads of State of Latvia".
  5. Restore remaining deleted edits at "List of Presidents of Latvia"
That should then give us two totally separate articles with appropriate, distinct and coresponding article histories. Does that sound like the right solution to you, Phil? Sorry for listing it out like that but it's rather complicated process and I just needto set it out in my own mind. If I sort out this issue, would you please explain the situation with Ivan, so he knows what's going on and why because he looks new and I don't want to have to do this again. Thanks Phil. Cheers, Sarah 11:44, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Your listed procedure is what I am looking for. I have posted to Ivan's talkpage and given a link to this talkpage. Unfortunately, there are no previous records of him being ready or willing to communicate. Philaweb T 11:53, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have posted a 3-revert rule warning to the Ivan Bogdanov talkpage for this reversion. Philaweb T 15:50, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, Philaweb, I've done it, please check that everything is right! There should be two articles at List of Presidents of Latvia and List of Heads of State of Latvia, both have their own separate histories. I just had a quick look at Ivan's contribs and I'm rather concerned to see that he's been moving a number of articles, seemingly arbitrarily and without discussion. Regrettably, these articles are outside my usual subject area and I really have no clue if what he's been doing is appropriate or not. Do you know anything about the articles he's moved? (Ivan's move log. Sarah 15:30, 24 February 2008 (UTC) Also, I've removed the section that was below, titled "Disputed sections" as that is now on Talk:List of Heads of State of Latvia. Sarah 15:30, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks for moving and splitting the pages as requested. Ir seems to me that User:Ivan Bogdanov and anon-ID 89.216.91.129 has similar preferences for articles on heads of states etc. I am not able to determin whether the article moves can be justified. All I know is that both users move and revert without communication in any way with other editors. Philaweb T 15:46, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

President-elect[edit]

Just to make the record straight – the concept of president-elect does not exist in Latvia, ergo, the upcoming president is only president when sworn in. Do not blindly transfer American traditions to other nations where heads of state also happen to be entitled presidents. Talk/♥фĩłдωəß♥\Work 18:29, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
