Cultic?[edit]

The word "cultic" in the introduction is not self-explanatory. I suspect the intent is Cultic#Theological definition which means relating to Worship, but I'm not knowledgable enough to say (and we should have at least one source, partly to help nail down the meaning of cultic, or whatever replaces it if we want a different wording instead). There are no scriptures that refer directly to Elohim as a name as there are for Jehovah:
This article is about Psalm 83, where verse 18 says "whose name alone is JEHOVAH" (KJV).
Also there is Jeremiah 33:2 - "Jehovah [is] His name." (YLT).
Exodus 6:3 - "as to My name Jehovah, I have not been known to them." (YLT)
There are others but where the Tetragrammaton should be translated "Jehovah" as well,
but I would bet you can not find one where the word Elohim is used the same way.
I don't need to go hunting down your badly reference secondhand source to tell me when I can read it directly for myself.

The Psalms were written in Hebrew, not English. The sentence in the lead is about the collection overall, not about a particular line in Psalm 83. "Elohist" refers to the original Hebrew, not to English translations (KJV or otherwise), and is about the majority (not entirety) of the references being to Elohim, rather than YHWH. (Psalm 83 contains (I understand) both forms in Hebrew.) There's a lot going on here. (Jimmy Dunn was (until his recent retirement) professor of Theology at Durham University.) I'm not sure where this would go but is noteworthy.

Lord is a title not a name, so other bible copyist may have taken out the real name of God for there reasons. The fact is we know Gods name is not "LORD" because it is a TITLE not a name as the all bible versions are unanimous is stating "your name" etc.

Just My 83 and the merits....

I came here, to put in my opinion on this Psalm 83, with the understanding that many these days, take their interpretation as their peril. It would be , a good , for once, to allow me, to speak of my feeling on this Psalm 83, in my very own flesh and blood and ancestry.I know this in my Soul. The Psalm 83, as a whole is a insight of a Samaria ( Israel ) and Judah. The hallmark records on how an Israelite questions the Silence of G-d.

It is a notion and understanding that the greater your faith, in Jehova, the more puzzling is Jehovah silence.

It is in this idea,the whole setting of the Psalm 83 operates among the many outrages human conduct. Along these the Asaph, the Psalmist poses the element of FEAR in his mind. That he feared for the survival of my people, my nation as a whole. Asaph in such a tragic FEAR cites the tent of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites.Asaph further looks in fear posed by the Gebal, Ammon and Amalek ( there is a commandment to watch against the Amalek ..cond No 613 ).

The whole basis of the records above is to bring to Hashem the survival of the Kingdom of G-d.

The survival of the people of G-d is not only recorded in Psalm 83, but even in today's world Israel is at risk of her enemies surrounding now, the current.Israel undergoing attack by enemies resolved to exterminate them. It is with the mighty hands of El Shaddai that my people, move G-d from the Silence.Like Asaph, even these days we move G-d to repel the enemies of my people.

The end of the enemies of Israel is already decided in the prophetic message of the Psalm 83. The enemies of Israel are already defined as whirling to dust, like straw driven by wind, filled with shame. We jews cling to FAITH and we move G-d from the Silence, for we know an acknowledge that Jehovah Alone is G-d. In this Psalm 83. there is great mystery of Moving G-d in the persona of Jehovah, as the Tertragramaton, as the Lrd and Adokim. The English language docent have the form, force or the conscience of these persona, but we have it in our SOUL,in our language, so we move the Lrd G-d. The last time we invoke YHWH was in the Yom Kippur Warin El Shaddai.

Psalm 83 wakes the Lrd G-d of Yisrael in fury and ferocious defense against the enemy of Israeal. Where we Jews stand , be in in Eretz Yisrael or the diaspora, we invoke the protection of the Lrd G-d for that nation that has give us a place to stay.

We share this mystery of Psalm 83 form our Soul, even to protect any one. Even the land from which i write this ,receives the protection of The Lrd G-d as we Jew bless the land, the north, the south, the east, the west and the central.

This Psalm 83 is a secret of breaking the silence of G-d when adversities turn against us and the nation we bless. Blessed be Israel and blessed be the land that gives the children of Yisrael a place to stay, in the diaspora too.

I write in good faith to share the hidden secret of the Jewish Soul in Psalm 83, please dont hurt me in any way.
