Hi Maia! This article has a lot of good info, but could use some work. In general I made some minor revisions such as for grammar. Several times it wasn’t clear whether the ant or the fly dies based on the wording, so I also tried to make that more clear. I changed “greater chance of fitness” to “greater average fitness” since fitness isn’t a binary scale... I rearranged a sentence or two so that the paragraph had a better flow. I also linked relevant wikipedia articles when I felt it may be helpful. I found that the Pseudacteon tricuspis has a second common name “the fire ant decapitating fly” so I included it in the lead section. There are also some quite good pictures of the fly attacking fire ants, however you may have to contact publishers to obtain access since the ones I found were all “all rights reserved.” I have added the first one I found with a license for now. I also added a section on sexual dimorphism because there is a lot to be said about that topic. It also didn’t really fit in the middle of a physical description, so I decided to separate it. However, it should really be expanded to give more detail on how exactly the size difference is an example of sexual dimorphism and the significance (even though I did link to the sexual dimorphism wikipedia article). I italicized genus names as well. I would work on reading sentence by sentence to see if the information is conveyed clearly and concisely, as there was a lot of wordiness, even though glancing at the references there is definitely a lot of information. Hi Maia. I really liked reading the article - very well-structured and informative. I have made some general writing edits and expanded several sections (Description, Distribution, Life history, Biological control). I have added a new source and links/citations wherever applicable. I inserted some Wikimedia Commons photos for the fire ant host and honeydew food source to visually supplement this article. I also changed any mentions of Pseudacteon tricuspis after the first time to P. tricuspis for consistency. XuLily (talk) 11:03, 1 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
