Talk:Psion Siena

I am 66 years old, and although I have spent much of my working life as a computer consultant, I'm still happier with DOS then with Windows or Linux ... a real 'golden oldie', and suspicious as well as critical.

Three years ago my son, who owns a hotel, gave me a Psion Siena, which a guest had left. The guest couldn't be traced, and after 6 months my son wanted to get rid of the thing.

I may have sneered slightly, but took it and, when I had a moment, I played with it (the help files are OK, but not for the thick). Brilliant! It not only looks smart and unobtrusive, but it will go in a coat pocket. The power lasts for months, and the uses are only limited by your imagination.

Every summer I take 24 children abroad, to a language camp. My Psion works out the budget with its spreadsheet, keeps lists of parents' addresses and emergency phone numbers in the card index, keeps all the information I need for day trips in the word processor, and has proved reasonably environment-proof, as well as totally reliable - all I need are a few T-shirts, an air ticket, and my Psion!

Unhappily, it has one fault. The hinges joining the lid/screen to the base/keyboard are weak, and it has a dose of superglue almost every week now. Anyone any ideas, (like a new case - where and how)?

In summary, it's ageless, and I love the little thing.
