Untitled[edit]

Philip Larkin did not teach English Literature. His day job was as a librarian.

removed potential libel[edit]

I have removed a claim that he was convicted of selling a clocked car (which seems to have been reduced from the even more serious claim that he did the clocking without either being cited) on the very simple basis that there is no evidence for a serious allegation being made against him. This is covered by WP:BLP. Some web research suggests there have been other rumours to that effect but nothing from any reliable sources. I've read some of his advice on used cars and at no point does he say "I was actually caught out myself by this", so it's either true or a very damaging claim to make. Virgin Cars[edit]

Nothing about him having been a Director of Virgin Cars in the late 90's Pandaplodder (talk)

Assessment comment[edit]

The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Quentin Willson/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

This page is essentially just a verbatim copy of Quentin Willson's approved biography as published on his own website - http://www.quentinwillson.co.uk/biography/index.html Hence its language and style is, in places, not appropriate to an encyclopaedia.
