Track Credits Dispute/Challenge[edit]

Track 6 "To Love Somebody" is credited here to Barry Gibb, Maurice Gibb, Sharon Robinson. The song is generally credited elsewhere, including within Wikipedia, to just Barry Gibb and Maurice Gibb.

Exploring Wikipedia and elsewhere for Sharon Robinson as a songwriter, the only match I could find is to Sharon Robinson who has worked notably with Leonard Cohen. Her official website - http://sharonrobinsonmusic.com/discography/ - lists songs she has written or co-written and does not include "To Love Somebody", although it does note that she co-wrote another song "Summertime" with Leonard Cohen around 1979, which was subsequently recorded by Roberta Flack (on "Set the Night to Music", 1991). Her date of birth is not indicated, but it appears she was a teenager in the late 1960's (based on biographical details given). My reading of her website is that she started writing songs around 1979, so overall I doubt that she could have contributed to any revised version of "To Love Somebody" in a 1971 album.

I have also searched elsewhere for track credits to "Quiet Fire". Allmusic also credits Sharon Robinson, but Discogs - http://www.discogs.com/Roberta-Flack-Quiet-Fire/release/1666290 - does not.

I found the back cover for the album at http://mymusicmoviesandmutterings.blogspot.com/2010/07/music-roberta-flack-quiet-fire-1971.html. This credits Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb - no mention of Sharon Robinson.

My opinion is that someone either mischievously or ignorantly credited Sharon Robinson on this track here, and that she was not involved in the track at all. Rather than just change the listing, I offer my research and thoughts here to allow informed debate, in case I am wrong. MikemagooOz (talk) 09:47, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
