De-hyping & references

Judging by the style, the article appears to have been lifted from a fan site, and therefore needs major re-writing and many references to back some of the claims. --Technopat (talk) 14:52, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

(English) Band

As the title says. So what are all these Indian names? I thought it was axiomatic on Wikipedia to give born names as well. Apparently the members of the group were Raja Ram (born Ronald Rothfield); Shiva Shankar Jones (born Phil Jones); Maha Dev (born Dave Codling); Sambhu Babaji (born Richard Vaughan); Jake Milton and Allan Mosert.

So far from being an apparently authentic ethnic origin Indian group, we have what might be called a 'Waisian' group of white boys adopting Indian personas. This alters my perception of the group somewhat. To someone who wasn't there coming to this article, it isn't obvious. This is surely worth noting? 109.144.214.116 (talk) 19:19, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

According to Allmusic, they were all devotees of Hinduism, so not simply "adopting Indian personas". What is your source for their birth names? The article needs a fair amount of work, and their birth names could be included when that is done. Ghmyrtle (talk) 20:16, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

The article itself gives 2 of them, the others may be gathered from internet searches. I don't doubt they were devotees of Hinduism; at least the Beatles didn't change their names. Isn't it now called 'cultural appropriation'?109.144.21.88 (talk) 15:58, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
