Still in use?[edit]

I live in Woodhall Spa and so go past the base nearly every day and im pretty sure its still open, but not in operational use. For a start the sign saying "RAF Woodhall" is still up, and maintained!, and secondly all the gates and security is still there. I've also seen military vehicles going in and out. Although there isnt any flying going on any more i think it now is used for testing, particually jet engines!

Assessment[edit]

I don't see why the page has been bannered. The description is coherent, and anyone actually reading the refs would be fine with it.

Unless someone can explain the problem better I will delete the banner. --Robert EA Harvey (talk) 20:28, 21 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Since its a no footnotes banner from Feb 2013, it seems someone has fixed the issue and it just hasn't been removed, saying that I do believe it should be replaced with a refimprove banner, because the referencing is not up to scratch for a B-class rating. So I will switch it over now. Gavbadger (talk) 20:47, 21 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure I understand, this is not a B-class article that needs improvement, it is a C class that is OK. The banner is not relevant. Jokulhlaup (talk) 17:17, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No, it's a C class that needs improvement due to a lack of references

For example: "Aircraft from this RAF Station:

  • dropped the first 12,000 lb Tallboy bombs and blocked the Saumur Tunnel through which all direct rail communications from the south of France to the Normandy front had to pass.
  • attacked the U-boat bases at La Pallice, Lorient and Brest. At Brest the uncompleted hull of the battleship Clemenceau and the cruiser Gueydon were sunk.
  • carried out two daring low-level mining operations against the ship canals at Stettin and Königsberg; all Swedish shipping was withdrawn from the Baltic trade."

If I came to Wikipedia to look at the article how would I know if those statements are true or not. The banner is to encourage people to edit the page with reliable references to improve it and ensure all the information is factual. Gavbadger (talk) 18:00, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
