The article fails to mention the deferred part of Devers' 10-year contract. Each year from 2024 through 2033, $7.5 million will be withheld and deferred to the future, very much like the contract that Bobby Bonilla signed with the Mets, where Bonilla gets a $1.9 million payment on 1 July each year and will do so through 2035.
