Plot Rafaela Martinez is the daughter of Caridad Martinez and Rafael De la Vega. She grew up never knowing who her father was and when she did meet him problems soon arose. First there was Morelia de la Vega, her stepmother. She'd hated Rafaela since the first day she'd laid eyes on her. Thinking that Rafael had a mistress, Morelia accused Rafaela of being a tramp.
