no lists, please

WP:INDISCRIMINATE

Don't put a list of every single CCA RI has to offer. We might as well start listing every single teacher RI has. Also, is there really a need for the anthem to be placed there?

Many school articles, and certainly many for SG schools, do list the CCAs and school song. Opinions differ sharply about this. There ought to be more consistency. If you are going to delete them for RI you should delete them at least for other SG schools. But it might be best to establish a consensus first. -- Alarics (talk) 23:17, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

Categorisation of article under 'Boarding schools in school'

Hi. I note that the article has been placed under the Category:Boarding schools in Singapore. I'm wondering though if this is a right categorisation; if the boarding school in the school campus is called Raffles Institution (Secondary), then it should be fine. However, if the boarding school has a separate name (say Raffles Institution Boarding School), then perhaps the categorisation should be removed, and creating a new article on the boarding school itself would be appropriate. Bad heraldry or bad description

I would just like to note that under 'Coat of Arms', there is a fairly serious disjunct between the text and the image shown; either that or the text needs amendment.

According to Burke (see http://www.heraldry-online.org.uk/raffles/raffles-arms.htm), the original Raffles arms are blazoned erminois, and the RI ones as depicted are blazoned Or. Further, the Raffles arms have a dagger on the lower medallion and Arabic characters on the upper one, features missing on the image. Lastly, in line with the previous topic on translation of the motto, I would like to point out that the Raffles arms were awarded in his capacity as an agent of Empire; it is unlikely that the two-headed eagle ever meant anything other than 'universality' (i.e. looking both East and West as in the old imperial Austrian and Russian arms) — no matter how the school would like to misinterpret the symbol. Original research

I've been observing some of the Singapore school articles. And one common feature is that they very often contain original research, something I believe is almost entirely contributed by the school students/staff/alumni. It applies to this article too. Just a suggestion, perhaps hidden comments can be added appropriately so that unknowing editors can better contribute to the respective school articles.
