365? no[edit]

I saw him on TV recently; he is a lot more than 365lbs.

Yeah. I saw him in person not long ago, and he is at least 400- probably 430-450.67.191.131.5 04:38, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unless you can give a reliable source to confirm his weight being 400+ pounds, then your claims don't mean shit.
Unless you can site some that he is 365, so are you. Are shit that is, not full of it.
This issue would not be an issue if the previous material, which was more factual than the current material, had been retained. It looks like someone erased the entire entry and cut-n-pasted it with something from a promotional brochure. In the history, there should be at least one version that states that at one point, Ralphie weighed over 800 pounds. The credibility of that statement is greater than any entry on the current page! I used to teach Weight Watchers classes and got very good at guessing people's weights before they stepped on the scale, but without seeing Ralphie in person, I would not hazard a guess. Dad[edit]

Did his dad die from cancer? Or was he just being a F*ckwit?TeePee-20.7 (talk) 15:06, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Does Not make sense[edit]

The statement does not make sense

"In 2005, he appeared on the television show Celebrity Fit Club, where he lost 270 pounds. Even though May only lost 5.6% of his body weight (one of the lowest in the history of the show) he has managed to lose almost another 100 pounds since the show."

I he lost 270lbs and that was only 5.6% of his body weight then he would have wieghed 4821.5lbs. Not possible. Thanks just thought it should be fixed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.201.102.186 (talk) 02:13, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It is possible they meant that, over the course if the show, they measured the total of each time he lost some weight. Measurements on things like this are notoriously inconsistent. You could lose 10 pounds, gain back 5, and then lose another 10, and they'd say you lost 20. It might be their math that's wrong, rather than the contributor that added that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.73.70.113 (talk) 05:01, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm certain it was a typo as on the show he lost TWENTY-SEVEN pounds, totaling 5.6% of his body weight. Otherwise, I'd attribute the confusion to the comments about his overall weight loss post-surgery. He'd already lost a lot of weight before the show began. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.189.115.6 (talk) 08:13, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Did he die?[edit]

Some posters on YouTube are posting, without attribution, that he has died. I think they are wrong, but can't prove it. 108.8.47.74 (talk) 19:43, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

He is dead now. --2600:8800:3982:3EC0:194E:E87A:2510:F53C (talk) 08:40, 8 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

School in Houston?[edit]

The article says he "studied at the Performing Arts". What is that? There is a "Society for the Performing Arts", and a "High School for the Performing and Visual Arts". Marzolian (talk) 04:03, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

TMZ article inconsistency on who divorced who[edit]

Within the TMZ artice, the 9th source: Ralphie May's wife Lahna Turner files divorce It says that May is the one who filed to divorce Turner, not the other way around. So, we need more sources to see what was in fact the case! Or to contact TMZ asking them to fix this — Preceding unsigned comment added by Moon822 (talkcontribs) 22:08, 7 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ralphie May[edit]

My husband and I saw Ralphie in the late 2000’s and we laughed so hard I almost busted a few guts. He was brilliant and one of the funniest and best comedians I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing. I’d put him up there with George Carlin for his spot on social takes and humor. What a sad loss! 71.86.123.58 (talk) 17:01, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Native American racism controversy[edit]

May's "Fuck a bunch of Indians" bit attracted a lot controversy. As a member of an Indian tribe, I myself was shocked. He responded to the backlash on social media.. There are definitely loads of reputable sources documenting this controversy and I'm surprised that it doesn't appear anywhere in the article. I don't have the time or skills to add content but if anyone else feels like doing it, please do so! 2601:647:8580:3750:84CD:5CAA:7B93:F420 (talk) 06:40, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
