Outside the US[edit]

Randy is very rarely used as a given name in the UK, probably because it is a slang term meaning 'horny' in British English. This makes the name the source of some humo(u)r in Britain. Many years ago the UK trade paper Computer Weekly ran a competition to find the most amusing Randy names, encouraging their readers who worked for American multinationals to explore their internal phone directories. Among the winners I remember were Randy Swetz (US Horny Sweats) and Randy Bender (US Horny Faggot). --Ef80 (talk) 13:24, 19 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

"Both"[edit]

"both" a given name and what else? Illang (talk) 18:56, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Previous versions said "both a given and a pet name", however that seemed kind of silly to me, every name can be a pet name. I just removed the word. Beach drifter (talk) 21:27, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
