I will be reviewing this! Sanfranciscogiants17 (talk) 14:22, 13 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

References[edit]

  • This section looks good!

Lead[edit]

  • I think the drug suspension should be mentioned in the lead. Maybe end the first sentence after 2012, then make it part of the sentence about the Venezuelan Summer League.
  • ”2019 season, but was” – No comma needed.

Early life[edit]

  • ”outfield, but” – No comma needed.

Minor leagues[edit]

  • No comma needed after 2012 in the first sentence.
  • ”In five innings pitched, Suárez pitched” – “In five innings pitched, Suarez recorded”
  • I think when “By” is used, the verb should be “had been” instead of “was.”
  • ”a 0.65 ERA, with 20” – No comma needed.
  • Might be a day missing from the NYPL Player of the Week—26-31 is only six days.
    •  Fixed whoops, dyscalculia! — GhostRiver 21:40, 13 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • ”the season, as decided” – No comma needed.
  • I seem to remember from back when I studied German that “Rindfleisch” is beef (Don’t put that in the article!)
  • ”Suárez was named to the South Atlantic League All-Star team, but could not participate in the game, and was replaced by Jordan Jess.[12] On July 4, Suárez was promoted to the Class A-Advanced Clearwater Threshers, joining a rotation of top pitching prospects that also included JoJo Romero, Sixto Sanchez, and Franklyn Kilome” – “Suárez was named to the South Atlantic League All-Star team, but Jordan Jess replaced him on the roster. This was because before the game, on July 4, Suárez was promoted to the Class A-Advanced Clearwater Threshers. He joined a rotation of top pitching prospects that also included JoJo Romero, Sixto Sanchez, and Franklyn Kilome.”
  • ”Fightin Phils, as part” – No comma needed.

Philadelphia Phillies[edit]

  • Put who ranked him the #10 prospect; Baseball America and MiLB.com don’t always have the same order.
  • ” He played in 37 games for the Phillies in 2019, all in relief, and with eight closing appearances” – “He made 37 relief appearances for the Phillies in 2019, finishing eight games for them.” Then take out “There” at the start of the next sentence.
  • ”late August, and was” – “late August before being”
  • ”I’d take out the part about Lidge—not really notable for someone who only has four saves.”
    •  Done And added that he moved into the rotation after we acquired Kennedy — GhostRiver 21:40, 13 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Pitcher profile[edit]

  • Change the first two sentences to “Suárez spent most of his professional baseball career as a starting pitcher before being used as a long reliever and closer by the Phillies in 2021.”
  • ” Suárez is also known for his fastball, which averages” – “Suárez’s fastball averages”
  • I’d take out the sentence about depth, since it’s a little too early in his career to tell.

Personal life[edit]

  • ”first player in MLB” – “first MLB player”
  • ”While playing in” – “While he was playing in”

Looks good; just minor stuff. Let me know when you’re finished, and I’ll give it another look! Sanfranciscogiants17 (talk) 14:44, 13 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
