Need for updated information[edit]

Proposed merge with 2018 Rattlesnake Ridge landslide[edit]

Seems a bit WP:CRYSTAL to have a preemptive landslide page. Easily can be incorporated into the article in a section about the specific ridge. Sounder Bruce 02:47, 1 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 25 April 2022[edit]

Rattlesnake Hills → Rattlesnake Ridge (eastern Washington) – the Rattlesnake Hills are more of a ridge that seems easily confused with Ahtanum Ridge. Also, "Rattlesnake Ridge" near North Bend, Washington should be renamed to "Rattlesnake Ridge (western Washington)". RobLa (talk) 02:25, 25 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If this is moved, it should be Rattlesnake Ridge (Yakima County, Washington) to have a parallel title, but I'm leaning oppose because this disambiguation can be achieved with WP:HATNOTEs rather than a parenthetical. Reywas92^Talk 20:24, 25 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Reywas92: — The problem with "Rattlesnake Ridge (Yakima County, Washington)" is that the eastern half of the ridge (and two of the highest points: Lookout Summit and Rattlesnake Mountain) are in Benton County, Washington. The eastern Rattlesnake Ridge is not conveniently located in one county (unlike the "Rattlesnake Ridge" located in King County, Washington). Having been a local at one point in my life, I know that the locals used to almost exclusively refer to the eastern ridge as "Rattlesnake Hills", but that was before the days of easy access to online topicgraphical maps with handy 3D views (and way before Wikipedia). Most people now know it's a ridge, and the folks in Yakima seemed to refer to it as a "ridge" when the 2018 Rattlesnake Ridge landslide. -- RobLa (talk) 01:59, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose We should keep the article at the most common (English) title. A quick Google test shows 5,950 hits for "Rattlesnake Ridge" and Yakima (excluding wine), while 17,200 hits for "Rattlesnake Hills" and Yakima (excluding wine).
