Vandalism and humor[edit]

Someone wrote these lines which he thought was funny-"....is a philanthropist, a Nobel prize winner, a double Laureus sportman of the year and the nearest human to being God..". I removed that part. Guys, please make fun of him in your own blogs, not in wikipedia articles.

The very last line on this page: "Apart from that, Jadeja's fielding of his own bowling and at boundary is generally outstanding."Is obviously a joke. A player cannot possibly field at boundary for his own bowling.
That's not what it said. Poorly stated, it said he fields his own bowling well, and at the boundary. Maybe even true but would need a ref. Please sign your posts!. Moriori (talk) 21:37, 19 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not so funny[edit]

Vandalizing someone's wiki page while sitting behind our computer screens is the lamest job that one can think off. Lets maintain the sanctity of Wikipedia.

Edit request on 14 April 2013[edit]

There is lot of incorrect information on this article. Ravindra Jadeja is not the brother of Ramanujan and all that bullcrap about Mathematics and statistics is incorrect too. Please revert it to a correct version 49.206.15.255 (talk) 09:48, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request on 22 March 2013[edit]

Change the name of Sir Ravindra Jadeja to Ravindra Jadeja because Ravindra Jadeja has not been given the tile 'Sir' and is only a hype created by media/public. here is the link of his cricinfo profile. http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/player/234675.html

We don't use "Sir" in article text regardless of whether the person has that title. Per encyclopedic Wikipedia practice, we don't use such honorifics in articles. There's absolutely nothing "disrespectful" about that. If the sirs or other decorations are added again, I will protect the article. Bishonen | talk 20:04, 22 March 2013 (UTC).[reply]

A new section "In popular culture" can be added[edit]

A new section "In popular culture" can be added to this wikipedia page.

Something like this can be added:

He has been given the title of Knighthood a.k.a. Sir by the cricket fans for his services against Indian cricket team during the initial phase of his career. Even after some good performances in recent times, this poor soul is subject of fun in social media.

People deserve to know this information that he is not just "Ravidra Jadeja", he is "Sir Ravidra Jadeja". "What do you guys think? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Spt24 (talkcontribs) 20:18, 24 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The vandals[edit]

With this edit a user vandalized this article with pure silliness. Naturally, it was zapped and other attempts to reintroduce it were also zapped. The fact that tabloids may have picked it up is irrelevant IMMHO. The content was removed from Wikipedia because it was vandalism, and I have again removed it because it is still the same vandalism being promoted again. Anyone who disagrees could take this to DRN . Moriori (talk) 06:55, 5 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

IMHO reporting vandalism as cited in multiple news sources is not the same as vandalism. Why are we equating the two. If not the exact quote in the text, if not a quote in the citation, a summary of joke can be added to the text. Gmcssb (talk) 08:15, 10 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The details of the Wikipedia joke edit (philanthropist and Nobel laureate) have been reported by notable online news sources like CNN IBN and Daily News and Analysis. I don't see why they should not be mentioned in a subsection titled "Online sarcasm and jokes". I am not bent on keeping them in the body of the article, but removal from even the citations is like censoring information from reliable sources? Gmcssb (talk) 10:18, 10 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Early Life[1]

Ravindra Jadeja, is the son of a former watchman. And his rise to the top was almost cut short by the tragic death of his mother when he was just 17.

Ironically, it was his mother Lataben's dream of seeing him play for India, and support of other family members, that kept Jadeja's hunger for success alive. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 49.249.134.251 (talk) 12:02, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

His date of birth is currently listed in the infobox as being on 6 December 1999, which would make him 16 years old. Could anyone please verify and post his correct date of birth for the record, thank you. 106.206.157.21 (talk) 19:45, 24 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

In the Info box, for club5 the period is 2016-2017. Because Gujarat Lion team is no longer and he is retained by Chennai Super Kings again for the 2018 Season. So we can modify the Info, again as club4 2018-present. 2405:204:6712:33C3:8110:3ACE:E5DA:B603 (talk) 17:33, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
