Comment[edit]

What year was the store started? George Slivinsky (talk) 23:20, 19 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is this any relation:

http://audiopreservationfund.org/directors.php

as there seems to be no reference to the store in the database and the links in the article give a 404. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.231.182.113 (talkcontribs) 17:27, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the link. it does not seem to be related to this article as far as I could tell. - Hydroxonium (talk | contribs) 06:33, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
What I should have said was this - that is a good link for The Audio Preservation Fund and for William Vandendries that are mentioned in this article. But I can not find a connection between either of those two and Record-Rama. - Hydroxonium (talk | contribs) 05:14, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Broken links[edit]

A number of links in the References and Links sections seem to be broken. I will be replacing them with links to archives. - Hydroxonium (talk | contribs) 06:34, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the broken links in the references section, I was unable to find them at The Internet Archive or at WebCite. I marked them with dead link. - Hydroxonium (talk | contribs) 01:57, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've added citations for everything I could find. I have been unable to confirm the information in the Current plans for the collection section. The reference links for this information are broken and are not listed at the Internet Archive or WebCite. I could not find any information about Record-Rama at the The Audio Preservation Fund website. Please note that William Vandendries name is spelled "William Vanden Dries", note the space between "Vanden" and "Dries". - Hydroxonium (talk | contribs) 05:22, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I should also mention that I searched the Internet Archive's entire section for http://www.thegreatestmusiccollection.com and could not find anything related to The Audio Preservation Fund or William Vanden Dries. - Hydroxonium (talk | contribs) 05:47, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sold[edit]

According to the Curator, the whole collection has been sold to a Brazilian person who plans to open a museum in Sao Paolo. The contract was signed on last December and the shipment took place in March. The only info I have is on an email I got from the Curator himself. What would be any other reliable source which would allow me to announce the selling in the article ? --Bibliorock (talk) 21:33, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Who is the "Curator"? George Slivinsky (talk) 11:16, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
If a letter from Mawhinney can't be used as a basis for writing, then something is wrong here.

At any rate as of August 8, 2014, a New York Times article confirms this sale. The link under References unfortunately leads to a NYT copyright panel. The link that works is http://www.nytimes.com/2014/08/10/magazine/the-brazilian-bus-magnate-whos-buying-up-all-the-worlds-vinyl-records.html?module=Search&mabReward=relbias%3Ar&_r=0 I can't edit the References. Case solved. George Slivinsky (talk) 21:04, 10 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
