Merge discussion[edit]

There's an enormous amount of duplication -- actually triplication -- here, created by WP:SPA editor User:Vicpiat on behalf of this company and the two partners. These two filmmakers appear to be notable for working together as Red Queen Productions. Suggest we redirect and merge. Individual biographical details can be stated in the combined article. Agree - serious case of an over-forked walled garden. I am not even sure the individual biographical articles would stand alone.Peter Rehse (talk) 20:32, 19 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
okay, I will look into merging them by the end of the week. thank you for your suggestions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vicpiat (talkcontribs) 00:40, 21 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

To not merge: withdrawn by proposer and with other opposition. Klbrain (talk) 08:35, 5 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Despite the above consensus to merge, it seems that the merge template was removed from the Maya Gallus page without discussion with edits by Vicpiat on 05:48, 12 October 2015 and on the Justine Pimlott page with an edit on 05:32, 12 October 2015‎. I'll therefore add the templates back again, and start essentially a new proposal. It still seems that these 3 pages greatly overlap, and would be best addressed together. • Support merge. There's not enough content that's substantively about Maya Gallus or Justine Pimlott, outside of reduplication of content from the company's article, to suggest that they would need or qualify for standalone biographies as separate topics from the company. Bearcat (talk) 17:15, 23 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Switching to a weak oppose to the merge, having looked a little more closely at the content. It is true that there is relatively little on each of them personally, but there is a lot about their separate directorial contributions, both before and after the formation of Red Queen Productions, suggesting that they warrant separate pages. So, the argument is that the 'subject' of the papers is notable, indepedent of the current state of the pages. This suggests that the pages should be improved rather than merged. • Oppose merge Both have significant accomplishments unconnected to Red Queen Productions. Both had several films and award from before Red Queen Productions was founded and they have had director role for different movies at Red Queen Productions.
