Specific notes/comments[edit]

Lead

  • Confused about the little message on the top about the O. Explain please?
  • "it was initiated" --> "it was triggered when Sven-Olle Olsson...."
  • The long quote about Olsson seems out of place. Also this sentence forgets the actual issue. What does it mean by 'refugee controversy'?
  • What made it end in 2001? Make this "lasted in Sjobo until 2001, when the city let refugees in for the first time in a decade." or something like that.

Background

  • Bio on Olsson? Not needed. This isn't about him.
  • Where did the motion go before? A council? Its unclear here.
  • Need a cite for "an idea Olsson disliked"
  • Sentence on his fame also seems unclear/unneeded.
  • Why does it matter that it was hailed by Nazi groups? Seems a bit POV-y here.

Referendum

  • Period at the end of the image's caption here.
  • Incorporate the AP quote in. Don't just say: "X said this: ..."
  • Does Ramel have a last name?
  • Very long quote from Phili Inquirer. Maybe use some of it throughout this section?

Result

  • "Fears" --> "concerns" or "feelings" (make it a more neutral term)
  • Last paragraph here starts with verb agreement issue. "said that...she believes..."

Aftermath

  • What led to the overturning of the decision?
  • Why mention Olsson died in 2005? This is not an article about him.
