Restored article[edit]

I've restored this article after speedy deletion as according to WP: POLITICIAN, it did not fail the notability criteria. The policy there states that the following persons are considered notable enough for a Wikipedia article: "Major local political figures who have received significant press coverage. Generally speaking, mayors are likely to meet this criterion, as are members of the main citywide government or council of a major metropolitan city." Ric McIver is currently an alderman on the City of Calgary Council, and has also received a significant amount of media coverage for his leading bid to become mayor in the upcoming local elections. Both of these facts are clearly indicated in the article. The deleting administrator has been notified of the article's recreation. If you still disagree with the article's existence, please follow the process outlined at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion, as speedy deletion is not appropriate in this case. --Dbo789 (talk) 17:37, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"returned to his entrepreneurial roots" I don't think so! Who wrote that, his campaign manager? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.64.65.80 (talk) 04:34, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
