Not sure why the author of this piece characterizes The Origins of European Thought as "eccentric". It was ahead of its time; a mixture of anthropology and classics. It's a goldmine of information that would otherwise require a solid knowledge of Greek and Latin to dig out. Most people are not educated in these disciplines today and the book is still in print. A solid resource that can be used in many fields.

Marriage date[edit]

Apologies for adding unreferenced data. I have this date by direct face-to-face contact with Onians’ eldest daughter, born 1938 October. We could get a copy of the certificate if someone really insists. The date was added in this edit by PamD (talk · contribs) and probably came from the Times obit or Who was Who so possibly the source had it wrong. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:01, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No, have checked both the sources and they agree on 1937 (though neither gives the exact date) - I must have misread or mistyped it. Apologies for my carelessness. PamD 23:24, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
