Use of word "unprecedented"[edit]

This word was removed from the opening sentence by 69.221.227.171 with the remark "a bit povish". The word "unprecedented" means "without precedent"; in other words, "nobody has done this before." Here is the list of artistic directors up to Monette:

Jean Gascon (1968-1974) [8 yrs]

Since Monette was the first to serve 14 years, his tenure was unprecedented. The word is not PoV at all, it is factual.
