Personal Life/Married Twice and Has three Children[edit]

There is not one mention of his personal life on his entry. It's not ever going to be much of an article, if it simply a thumbnail of his years leading up to Rocky Horror, and then an overview of his professional life thereafter.(24.62.100.100 (talk) 03:33, 14 June 2009 (UTC))[reply]

+++ Yeah, like maybe some explanation as to why he hasn't aged a day in 35 years. :-) -- and why there is no discussion of it here. I think it boils down to the innate English respect for the privacy of non-politicians - or it's the work of the devil. Worked hard. Wrote Rocky. Acted in movie version. Got rich. Had fun. Fathered children. Had more fun. Worked hard. Had more fun. Modestly advocated alternate sexual proclivities later in life. Bothered no-one. Worked hard. Had fun. If he wanted his private life splashed here, then here would it be splashed.

Nice night for a party, isn't it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.27.120.188 (talk) 05:09, 5 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There is a Richard O'Brien who worked at Fox News for 21 years that just recently died: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/08/07/richard-obrien-pioneering-fox-news-creative-director-dies-at-59.html The person that died doesn't even show in the Richard O'Brien disambiguation page. Anglo-New Zealand??[edit]

what is that supposed to mean? Anglo-American usually means an American with English ancestry. So Anglo-New Zealand would not seem the correct term to describe someone born in the UK, and who was not a New Zealand citizen until very recently.Theodore D (talk) 21:27, 22 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

In 2017 he stated that he had "always considered myself a New Zealander." "I'd been planning to come back to New Zealand since the day I left," he says. "I've always considered myself a Kiwi. Always." He was granted citizenship in 2011.http://www.nzherald.co.nz/bay-of-plenty-times/news/article.cfm?c_id=1503343&objectid=11814401

rights to rocky horror?[edit]

It seems pretty well known that he seems to have lost rights completely to the film version of rocky horror, but does he still have rights to the play and all the songs? This article sort of gives me that idea, but doesn't clearly say it: http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-33715874 Other articles seem to make it clear that he's a little bit bitter about losing all the rights to the film, and won't do anything to promote it, and yet he's involved with the british stage production, etc. Centerone (talk) 23:48, 18 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Just wondering...[edit]

Richard O'Brien (né Smith) and Brian Jones (1942-1969; founder/member of The Rolling Stones, 1962-1969) were both born in Cheltenham less than a month apart. The article discusses O'Brien's immigration to New Zealand at age 10, but I was just wondering if the two knew each other/were schoolmates in childhood. Jones of course is buried in Cheltenham. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Maccb (talkcontribs) 06:44, 2 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
