Untitled[edit]

I saw this and thought it might be a speedy too, but from the bio in the link, he's won some apparently important awards. If he's got recognition as a sculptor, this doesn't automatically make his band important, though. I didn't find them in AMG so I made that into a redirect. What is AMG? Gordo 21:54, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I believe the stub category was innapropriate, BTW. Gordo 21:55, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
All Music Guide. Having a bio in there is generally a good indication that a band has gotten enough media coverage to make an article about them. Friday (talk) 21:55, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I guess the Bow Gamelan Ensemble stepped outside the "music" defined by this guide. Gordo 21:52, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wilson is a leading UK sculptor[edit]

Wilson is a leading UK sculptor some of whose work had almsot mythical status in the UK art scene. E.g. his oil tank which I first saw at Matts Gallery in east London. This article should definitely not be delieted and he is definitely notable.

I can also verify that his band Bow Gamelan was both influential and played at many high profile public events Anotehr member Paul Burwell is a leading drummer in the improvised music scene from the 1970s and anyone involved in that scene in UK would know of him.

This rapid deletion shows the need for national editors to make such descisions and only after inviting discussion for some time!! Szczels 11:49, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What's easily done can be easily undone. Notice this is no longer nominated for deletion. Given the current info in the article I'd be quite surprised if someone came along and put it on Afd. Friday (talk) 14:19, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
