Location of birth[edit]

Bana born in Nazareth in 1966 and died in 2018, during that time Nazareth was (and still is) under Israeli sovereignty. Therefor she born and die in Israel. Nationality is not equal to citizenship, she can be Palestinian or define her own Nationality, but nothing can change the fact of her location of birth. For example, Elon Musk born in South Africa but he can still define himself ad American. Sokuya (talk) 19:39, 24 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. She self-identified as Palestinian, but Nazareth is a city in Israel. Therefore, she should be listed as an Israeli Arab who identified with the Palestinian cause. As is her right and prerogative in the free democratic society that is Israel. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Miketsif (talkcontribs) 02:35, 12 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Recent BLP violations[edit]

Hi there! Because there have been edits to this article recently by editors of all account levels and types - and whom are apparently having trouble complying with Wikipedia's biographies of living people policy and how to locate an acceptable source to cite as proof, I've fully protected the article to enforce compliance. Until I see a reference that's acceptable and compliant with policy that confirms this article subject's possible death, all edits will need to be requested and reviewed before being added to the article. Thanks :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 20:46, 24 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

She is dead, per [1], [2] and several others. Reporting on the death and funeral caused the optick in editing.Icewhiz (talk) 20:49, 24 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Icewhiz - AHA! There we go! That's what I was looking for! I'm lowering the protection level one notch so this can be added. Thank you for responding here :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 21:02, 24 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Done. The article is extended confirmed protected now. Cheers - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 21:04, 24 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Edit[edit]

Locking an article is good, but making sure it's written properly before locking it is even better. Would someone mind correcting this sentence:

particularly those [living on the] West Bank. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A03:1B20:4:F011:0:0:0:1D (talk) 09:24, 16 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

What does it take - seeing that this article is locked...[edit]

... to correct the grammatical mistake and complete the discography, as per the two sections above? Is nobody in charge, like say, those who locked the article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A04:9DC0:C1:50:0:0:0:1D (talk) 14:38, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't seem incorrect to describe Nazareth as being governed by Israel. – Thjarkur (talk) 19:47, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There is a quote within quotation marks on the page, but without attribution, stating that her music would be haunting, emotional, and bordering on kitsch. Since it is not clear to whom this opinion is attributed, it should not be cited as a quote. I think the statement could be left without quotation mark, but with the reference to "bordering on kitsch" removed. This kind of negative opinion without attribution is unworthy.
